New Municipal Queen Creek Police Department

The establishment of the municipal Queen Creek Police Department is underway. During a March 18, 2020 meeting the Town Council approved the establishment of a municipal police department. Queen Creek has been reliant on the MCSO, but concerns had been raised about the MCSO’s ability to provide services that the town desired.

The first step in the process of establishing the police department was to find a police chief. On June 26, 2020, the town announced that Randy Brice had been hired as the first Police Chief of the Queen Creek Police Department. Brice has nearly 30 years of experience in law enforcement, most recently serving as the Assistant Chief of Police over the Investigation-Support Bureau. Brice’s will begin his position in Queen Creek on July 20th prioritizing staffing, policy and community outreach.

The transition will take approximately 18 months. During the transition, the MSCO will continue to be the contracted law enforcement provider. The Queen Creek Police Department is expected to be up and running January 2022.
